Our Story

The Roost: Where Backyard BBQ Meets Global Street Food

The Roost is a family-owned food truck in Austin, TX, born from a love of fire-roasting and fresh ingredients. Founders Alex and Mia turned their backyard barbecue tradition into a mobile kitchen that travels the city, serving bold flavors inspired by street food from around the world.

Our Story

Every weekend, Alex and Mia would fire up the smoker and invite neighbors over. Their signature dishes—like smoked brisket tacos with pickled onions and Korean gochujang-glazed ribs—became local legends. In 2023, they decided to share that backyard magic with all of Austin.

We source ingredients from local farms and markets, and everything is cooked over live fire. No shortcuts, no frozen preps—just honest food made with care.

What We Serve

Our menu rotates with the seasons, but you'll always find fire-roasted meats, house-made salsas, and creative sides. Think smoked brisket tacos, Korean BBQ bowls, elote with chipotle crema, and our famous 'Roost Nachos' piled with pulled pork and pickled jalapeños.
